The resolution recognizes the Lone Star Santas organization for its dedicated efforts in bringing holiday cheer to children and families in need across Texas and beyond. Established in 2007, the nonprofit has conducted over 30 "Convoy of Toys" events, starting with their first in Joplin, Missouri, following a devastating tornado in 2011. The organization operates entirely through volunteers, who take on roles such as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, and cover their own travel and expenses to spread joy to communities affected by natural disasters.

In honor of their contributions, the resolution designates September 16 as Lone Star Santas Charities Day in Texas. This designation will remain in effect until the 10th anniversary of the resolution's passage, highlighting the inspiring example of goodwill set by the members of Lone Star Santas and the gratitude they have earned from the communities they serve.
