The Texas House of Representatives has passed a resolution congratulating Ann Manning of Lubbock for receiving the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Texas Tech University School of Law, which will be presented at an annual gala on March 1, 2025. A member of the Class of 1984, Ms. Manning has had a distinguished career as the managing shareholder of Underwood Law's Lubbock office and is the only attorney in the city certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. With over 35 years of experience, she has represented the Lubbock Independent School District and various other clients, providing expertise in employment contracts, wage disputes, and open government law.

Ms. Manning's contributions to the legal field have been significant, as she has presented at seminars and served in leadership roles, including board member for the State Bar of Texas School Law Section. Her accomplishments have earned her recognition as a "Texas Super Lawyer" and a top attorney in employment law by Texas Monthly, among other honors. The resolution expresses the House's sincere best wishes for her continued success and acknowledges her dedication to upholding the highest standards in her profession.
