The bill amends Section 132.002 of the Agriculture Code to establish new regulations regarding the sale of ungraded eggs by producers. It allows individuals who produce eggs from their own flock to sell up to 120 dozen ungraded eggs per week directly to consumers or at wholesale, provided they comply with specific labeling requirements. The labeling must include the word "ungraded," the producer's name and address, the date the carton was packed, and, if sold at wholesale, the producer's license number.

Additionally, the bill stipulates that producers selling ungraded eggs at wholesale must hold a license as an ungraded dealer-wholesaler and maintain records as required by existing law. They are also required to adhere to sanitation standards when handling eggs for wholesale sale. The bill is set to take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds vote from both houses of the legislature or on September 1, 2025, if such a vote is not achieved.
