The Texas House of Representatives has passed a resolution recognizing March 19, 2025, as Black Business Day at the State Capitol, in honor of a delegation from the Texas Association of African American Chambers of Commerce (TAAACC) visiting Austin. Established in 1988, TAAACC has its origins in the 1920s with the formation of the Dallas Negro Chamber of Commerce, and it now represents a statewide network of over 10,000 members and advocates for more than 350,000 African American businesses across Texas.
The resolution highlights TAAACC's role in educating its members about relevant laws and regulations, advocating for equal opportunities for African American enterprises, and promoting diversity and inclusiveness in the business community. Through its efforts, TAAACC contributes significantly to the economic mobility and prosperity of Texas, and the resolution extends a warm welcome to all participants of the event, acknowledging their contributions to the state's economic landscape.
