H.R. No. 273 is a resolution honoring the Delta Xi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at The University of Texas at Austin as they celebrate their Founders Week in February 2025. Established in 1908 as the first sorority for African American women, Alpha Kappa Alpha has a long history of promoting sisterhood, social change, and support for women through various initiatives. The Delta Xi Chapter, founded in 1959, has continued this mission by engaging in community service, educational enrichment, and advocacy for marginalized communities, focusing on health, economic development, education, the arts, and the empowerment of women and girls.

The resolution acknowledges the chapter's commitment to honoring the legacy of its founders while reaffirming its dedication to academic achievement, civic responsibility, and social justice. It recognizes the members' contributions to improving the quality of life for their fellow citizens and expresses the Texas House of Representatives' sincere best wishes for the future of the Delta Xi Chapter. An official copy of the resolution will be prepared as a token of high regard for the chapter's achievements.
