The resolution honors the Delta Xi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at The University of Texas at Austin as it celebrates its Founders Week in February 2025. Established in 1908 as the first sorority for African American women, Alpha Kappa Alpha has a long history of promoting sisterhood, social change, and support for women through various initiatives.
