S.B. No. 1229 is a legislative act that designates a specific portion of U.S. Highway 69 in Smith County as the Veterans Memorial Highway. The designated section runs between its intersection with South State Loop 323 and the northern municipal limits of Bullard. This designation is intended to be in addition to any other existing designations for the highway.

The bill also mandates the Texas Department of Transportation to design and construct markers that indicate the highway's new designation and to erect these markers at both ends of the highway as well as at appropriate intermediate sites along the route.
