Senate Resolution No. 50 honors the life and legacy of John Lewis Forrest Sr., who passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Gorman and raised in Woodson, Mr. Forrest was a valedictorian and an accomplished athlete in high school. He married Cathy Sanders in 1966, and together they raised two children, John and Cindy, and welcomed two grandchildren. The resolution expresses heartfelt condolences to his family and acknowledges the profound impact he had on those who knew him, emphasizing his integrity and dedication to both his family and his community. The Texas Senate adopted this resolution on February 18, 2025, in memory of Johnny Forrest.
