Additionally, the bill removes the previous option for veterans who served in the armed forces of the Republic of Vietnam between February 28, 1961, and May 7, 1975, unless the board adopts a specific rule regarding these veterans. The changes aim to broaden the scope of who qualifies for loans, thereby supporting more individuals who have served in various capacities related to state defense. The bill is set to take effect on September 1, 2025.
