H.B. No. 2198 designates a portion of State Highway 34 in Kaufman County as the Officer Jacob Candanoza Memorial Highway. The specific section of the highway to be designated runs between its intersection with Kings Creek Drive and its intersection with North Frances Street. This designation is intended to honor Officer Jacob Candanoza and is in addition to any other existing designations for the highway.

The bill also mandates the Texas Department of Transportation to design and construct markers that indicate the highway's new designation, as well as to erect a marker at each end of the highway and at appropriate intermediate sites along the route.
