The resolution honors the life and memory of Inda Sorrels Williams, who passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 66. Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, on August 16, 1958, she was the daughter of Joe and Jeanine Sorrels and grew up with three siblings. Inda graduated from Richardson High School in 1976 and earned an accounting degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1980. She enjoyed a 42-year marriage with her husband, Alan, and was a proud mother to two sons and six grandchildren. Inda had a successful career as a public accountant and later co-operated a Chick-fil-A franchise with her husband.
Inda Williams was deeply committed to her faith and community, serving as a mentor and spiritual leader. She authored several books, including "The Power of a Caregiver," which reflected her experiences during her husband's battle with cancer. The resolution expresses heartfelt condolences to her family, including her husband, sons, grandchildren, and siblings, and acknowledges the lasting impact she had on those who knew her. An official copy of the resolution will be prepared for her family, and the Texas House of Representatives will adjourn in her memory.
