House Concurrent Resolution No. 45 honors the memory of Peggy Case Worthington, who is being posthumously inducted into the Petroleum Hall of Fame on April 10, 2025. The Petroleum Hall of Fame, established in 1967 by the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum, recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the petroleum industry. Peggy Worthington had a distinguished career in the oil and gas sector, beginning in the 1970s after graduating from Arkansas State University. She worked for several companies, including ARCO Oil and Gas and Bold Energy, where she became vice president of land and business development, overseeing substantial acquisitions and earning accolades for her negotiation and mentorship skills.

The resolution acknowledges Worthington's legacy as a trailblazer in the industry, particularly for her advocacy in creating opportunities for women in petroleum. She was recognized as the 2013 Landman of the Year by the American Association of Professional Landmen and passed away in 2019 at the age of 66. The Texas Legislature expresses its high regard for her contributions and achievements, and an official copy of the resolution will be prepared for her family as a tribute to her life and impact on the industry.
