The bill amends Section 155.207(a) of the Family Code to update the requirements for transferring court files in cases affecting the parent-child relationship when continuing, exclusive jurisdiction is transferred. Specifically, it mandates that within ten working days of signing a transfer order, the transferring court's clerk must send several documents to the receiving court using the electronic filing system. Notably, the bill adds the requirement to include "pleadings in the pending proceeding and any other document specifically requested by a party," while removing the previous requirement to send "original papers filed in the transferring court."

The changes introduced by this bill will only apply to suits where the order transferring jurisdiction is rendered on or after the effective date of September 1, 2025. For cases with transfer orders issued before this date, the existing law will remain in effect. This ensures a smooth transition to the new requirements while maintaining the integrity of prior cases.
