S.B. No. 499 amends Section 1112.155(a) of the Special District Local Laws Code regarding the selection of a depository bank for the West Coke County Hospital District. The bill allows the board of directors to select one or more banks to serve as a depository for district money, removing the previous requirement that the banks must be located within the district.

The bill is set to take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds vote from all elected members of each house. If it does not achieve this majority, the bill will take effect on September 1, 2025.
