SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 82
               WHEREAS, Dr.  Pamela Anglin is concluding her exemplary
  20-year tenure as president of Paris Junior College at the end of
  2023; and
               WHEREAS, The first female president of the college, Pam
  Anglin was appointed in 2003, when PJC had but a two-month
  operating reserve; while guiding the institution to financial
  stability, she has overseen its development as a national leader
  in an important transition by community colleges, away from
  open-door access and towards promotion of degree and certificate
  attainment; her efforts led to the school's selection for several
  national programs, including the Pathways Project, Achieving the
  Dream, and a student-success initiative of the Institute for
  Evidence-Based Change; PJC was named an Achieving the Dream
  Leader College, and it received the 2012 Excellence in Education
  Award from the Texas Association of Business; moreover, it has
  been twice recognized as one of the country's 50 fastest-growing
  community colleges; and
               WHEREAS, Dr.  Anglin has been a strong advocate for
  outcomes-based funding at the state level, and she helped form
  the Texas Community Colleges Consortium for Shared Resources to
  pursue cost savings in new enterprise resource planning software
  and annual allocations from the state legislature; among
  numerous leadership roles, she chaired the Northeast Texas
  Consortium of Colleges and Universities and served two terms each
  on the boards of the American Association of Community Colleges
  and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission
  on Colleges; she has further benefited her fellow citizens as a
  member of the Northeast Texas Workforce Board; the recipient of
  the Teamwork Award 2014 from Workforce Solutions Northeast
  Texas, she has been inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa CEO Hall of
  Honor and the PTK Texas Region Hall of Honor, and her many
  accolades include the organization's Shirley B. Gordon Award of
  Distinction; and
               WHEREAS, Through her outstanding accomplishments, Pam
  Anglin has advanced the vital mission of Paris Junior College and
  made a positive impact at the state and national level, and she
  may indeed reflect with pride on her many contributions; now,
  therefore, be it
               RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby honor Dr.  Pamela Anglin
  for her service as president of Paris Junior College and extend to
  her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
               RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Dr.  Anglin as an expression of high regard from the
  Texas Senate.
