H.R. No. 125
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
memories of Maria Guadelupe Garcia of San Benito, who passed away on
November 28, 2023, at the age of 70; and
       WHEREAS, The daughter of Santiago Raul Garc a, Sr. and Marta
P rez Garc a was born in Harlingen, Texas on October 14, 1953; she
lived a fulfilling and joyous childhood alongside her siblings;
Santiago, Janie, Nora, Estella, Teri, Rene, and Ricardo.
       WHEREAS, She received a Bachelor of Science in Education
degree and was a highly respected professional educator. She
impacted the lives of countless students throughout her tenure as a
professional educator at Villa Mar a High School and San Benito
C.I.S.D. She retired from San Benito C.I.S.D. after thirty-six
exemplary years of teaching.
       WHEREAS, Affectionally known as “Ms. ML”, Sheproudly
dedicated well over 30 years of her life to San Benito CISD and the
youth of the local community. She came to work for the local school
system in 1981 and retired in 2016, having left for 5 years to serve
the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville.
       WHEREAS, Maria Guadelupe Garcia lived a life that was rich in
personal and professional achievements, and she will forever be a
source of inspiration to those she leaves behind; now, therefore,
be it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
of Maria Guadalupe Garcia and extend heartfelt sympathy to the
members of her family, other relatives and many friends; and, be it
further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Maria
Guadalupe Garcia.
