SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 75
 
 
In Memory
of
Troy Peterson Bacon II
 
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
commemorates the life of Troy Peterson Bacon II, who died on
October 30, 2023, at the age 35; and
       WHEREAS, "Scoota B," as he was affectionately known, was
born on June 27, 1988; the firstborn son of Troy Peterson Bacon I
and Ramona Ross-Bacon, he was raised by loving example by his
family and his church community, and he demonstrated a talent and a
passion for singing beginning when he was just two years old; and
       WHEREAS, A gifted musical artist, he found great reward and
enjoyment in performing with his band, The After Party, and he
appeared in his last show with them on Saturday, October 21 in
Houston; as always, he dedicated himself fully to his role as a
performer and earned the admiration and appreciation of his
audience, despite experiencing the effects of his illness with
Lupus, for which he was hospitalized several days later; and
       WHEREAS, Blessed with a strong and determined spirit, he
faced his illness with courage and perseverance, and he placed a
high priority on fulfilling his commitments and on living each
day to the fullest; he was passionate about encouraging other
young people affected by the disease to fulfill their educational
goals, and the Troy P. Scoota B. Bacon II Lupus Scholarship Fund
was established in support of this mission; and
       WHEREAS, Scoota B was a devoted son and was dearly
cherished by his family members and countless friends; his
resilience and positive outlook were a source of inspiration to
others, and his creative and generous spirit made a lasting
impact in the lives of all who knew him; he leaves behind memories
that will be forever treasured by his family and his many loved
ones and by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby extend sincere
condolences to the bereaved family of Troy Peterson "Scoota B"
Bacon II; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
memory of Troy Peterson Bacon II.
