CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Deb Shaw of the Midland Independent School District |
|
|
has been recognized as the 2023 Administrator of the Year by Texas |
|
|
Thespians; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This prestigious honor acknowledges the |
|
|
contributions of outstanding school administrators who have |
|
|
demonstrated exemplary support for educational theatre; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With more than three decades of experience in fine |
|
|
arts education, Ms. Shaw has served as Midland ISD's fine arts |
|
|
director for the past 18 years, and over the course of her tenure, |
|
|
she has distinguished herself through her passion for the arts as |
|
|
well as her exceptional organizational and managerial skills; under |
|
|
her able leadership, the Midland High School theatre program earned |
|
|
a number of accolades for its performance of A Midsummer Night's |
|
|
Dream at the Texas Thespians State Festival in San Antonio, |
|
|
including awards for best costume design, set design, and technical |
|
|
crew; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her dedication, expertise, and commitment |
|
|
to excellence, Deb Shaw has made a positive difference in the lives |
|
|
of countless students, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in |
|
|
recognizing this esteemed administrator; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas, |
|
|
4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Deb Shaw on her selection |
|
|
as the 2023 Administrator of the Year by Texas Thespians and extend |
|
|
to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Shaw as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives and Senate. |
