SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
tribute to Mae Ping Wong on the grand occasion of her 100th
birthday on November 26, 2023; and
 
       WHEREAS, This distinguished lady is well known for her
charm and generous spirit, and she is a source of inspiration to
her loved ones and friends; and
 
       WHEREAS, Mae Wong was born on November 26, 1923; the first
member of her family to be born in the United States, Mae helped
her parents to raise her siblings and worked in their small
business during the Great Depression; and
 
       WHEREAS, A woman of compassion and heart, Mae prepared
special care packages to send to her brothers who had gone to
serve in the Second World War and in the Korean War, and her
family and friends truly appreciate the joy she has brought to
their lives; and
 
       WHEREAS, She is a devoted mother to her eight children and
an adoring grandmother to her ten grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren, and she is immensely proud to have seen all
of her children graduate from college; and
 
       WHEREAS, Beloved and respected by her community, Mae is
noted for her wisdom and her determined spirit and for the joy she
takes in living each day to the fullest; her friends and family
are pleased to share in celebrating this important milestone in
her exceptional life; now, therefore, be it
 
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby recognize Mae Ping Wong
as a treasured citizen of this state and congratulate her on her
100th birthday; and, be it further
 
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Mae Ping Wong as a memento of this special day.
