R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
       WHEREAS, Carolyn Witherspoon is retiring as the executive |
|
director of the Coalition of Health Services, Inc., in Amarillo in |
|
December 2023, drawing to a close an exceptional tenure with the |
|
organization that has spanned a quarter century; and |
|
       WHEREAS, Ms. Witherspoon first joined the Coalition of |
|
Health Services in March 1998 as a quality assurance coordinator, |
|
and she became executive director two years later; under her |
|
guidance, the coalition has excelled in its mission of enhancing |
|
the well-being of residents of the Texas Panhandle by fostering |
|
coordination among healthcare facilities and supporting ongoing |
|
health initiatives in a 32-county area; and |
|
       WHEREAS, Active in her professional community, |
|
Ms. Witherspoon has served as a director and as president of the |
|
National Cooperative of Health Networks Association, and she was |
|
recognized as the NCHN Outstanding Network Leader of the Year in |
|
2013; she is a graduate of Dimmitt High School and studied at West |
|
Texas A&M University; and |
|
       WHEREAS, Carolyn Witherspoon has distinguished herself |
|
through her dedication, expertise, and commitment to benefiting her |
|
fellow Texans, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career |
|
well spent as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Carolyn |
|
Witherspoon on her retirement as the executive director of the |
|
Coalition of Health Services, Inc., and extend to her sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Witherspoon as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
