R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, Sabrina Walker Hernandez was honored as the Edinburg
Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year at the organization's annual
Installation & Awards Banquet on November 8, 2023; and
       WHEREAS, Each year, the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce
recognizes local civic leaders for their outstanding efforts in
behalf of their community; and
       WHEREAS, After serving her country as a member of the United
States Army, Ms. Hernandez discovered her true calling with the
Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV; over the course of her two
decades with the organization, she served in a number of leadership
roles, including as chief executive officer and vice president of
operations; and
       WHEREAS, During her tenure as CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs,
Ms. Hernandez made many important contributions to the Rio Grande
Valley's nonprofit sector; her most significant achievements
included increasing operating revenue from $750,000 to
$2.5 million over an eight-year period and planning and overseeing
a $12 million comprehensive capital campaign, which was the largest
in the organization's history; and
       WHEREAS, Today, Ms. Hernandez is the president and CEO of
Supporting World Hope, a consulting firm that assists organizations
in such areas as program development, capital campaigns,
fundraising, and marketing; over the years, many local
organizations have benefited from her involvement, including the
Rotary Club of Edinburg, Village in the Valley, the Edinburg
Economic Development Corporation, and the Edinburg Mayor's Youth
Advisory Council; and
       WHEREAS, Sabrina Walker Hernandez has demonstrated a lasting
commitment to making Edinburg a better place for all, and in so
doing, she has earned the deep respect and appreciation of her
fellow residents; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Sabrina
Walker Hernandez on being named the 2023 Woman of the Year by the
Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and extend to her sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
