R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
       WHEREAS, Beth Marie's Old Fashioned Ice Cream is celebrating |
|
its 25th anniversary in 2023, and this occasion provides a welcome |
|
opportunity to pay tribute to this venerable North Texas business; |
|
and |
|
       WHEREAS, Original owners Beth Marie and Randy Cox opened the |
|
business's first parlor on the historic Denton Square in November |
|
1998; in the years that followed, that location became a popular |
|
destination for local residents and visitors alike, and Beth |
|
Marie's has since opened two additional locations in the area; and |
|
       WHEREAS, Using Emery Thompson machines designed in 1927, Beth |
|
Marie's produces more than 150 flavors of ice cream, with the |
|
selections changing seasonally; in addition to its in-store |
|
offerings, the business sells its products to 50 commercial clients |
|
across North Texas; today, the organization benefits from the |
|
leadership of owners Ken Willis, Bob Moses, and Pat Engelbrecht as |
|
well as regional manager Margaret Rich; and |
|
       WHEREAS, Independent businesses that reflect the unique |
|
spirit of their communities are to be commended for the vital role |
|
they play in the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and Beth Marie's |
|
Old Fashioned Ice Cream is indeed deserving of recognition for its |
|
quarter century of success; now, therefore, be it |
|
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Beth Marie's |
|
Old Fashioned Ice Cream on its 25th anniversary and extend to all |
|
those associated with the business sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Beth Marie's as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
