H.R. No. 143
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
of Dwayne Thomas Stenson of Houston, who passed away on August 11,
2023, at the age of 63; and
       WHEREAS, The son of Nilda Valles Stenson-Robinson and Thomas
Stenson, Dwayne Stenson was born on December 7, 1959, in New York
City and grew up in Miami, Florida, with five siblings, Lydia,
Audrey, Martin, Rosalind, and Bradley; he proudly served his
country as a member of the U.S. Army, and he enjoyed a successful
career as an auto mechanic that spanned nearly half a century; and
       WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, Mr. Stenson drew
strength from a rewarding marriage with his wife, Cheryl, and he
took great pride in his children, Kevin, Sarah, and Heather, and his
two bonus children, Anthony and Nicole; in his later years, he
delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, Kaiden and
Sophia, and his life was further enriched by his dog, Harley; in his
leisure hours, he could often be found watching NASCAR races or
riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle with his wife; and
       WHEREAS, While the death of Dwayne Stenson brings great
sadness to his family and friends, he leaves behind a legacy that
will long be treasured by all those who held him dear; now,
therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
of Dwayne Thomas Stenson and extend heartfelt sympathy to his
family and friends; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dwayne
Stenson.
