H.R. No. 122
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, Cynthia Mendoza served her country with great honor
and distinction as a member of the United States military, and she
is being recognized for her contributions at the 27th Annual San
Elizario Veterans Day Celebration on November 11, 2023; and
       WHEREAS, Originally celebrated as Armistice Day in
recognition of the end of World War I, Veterans Day now honors all
who have served in the armed forces, including the former members of
the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast
Guard, and National Guard; by upholding America's foundational
values of selflessness and sacrifice, they have helped ensure that
our country's promise will endure for generations to come; and
       WHEREAS, Answering her nation's call to duty, Cynthia Mendoza
joined the U.S. Army in 1978 and went on to complete her enlistment
at the rank of private E-2 in 1980; and
       WHEREAS, Demonstrating exemplary dedication, Cynthia Mendoza
upheld the highest ideals of the U.S. armed forces during her years
in uniform, and her fellow citizens owe her a lasting debt of
gratitude; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Cynthia Mendoza for
her military service on the occasion of the 27th Annual San Elizario
Veterans Day Celebration and extend to her sincere best wishes for
the future; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Mendoza as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
