H.R. No. 66
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
of Eula Mae Griffith West, who passed away on July 27, 2023, at the
age of 69; and
       WHEREAS, The daughter of Horace Griffith and Sadie Skinner
Griffith, the former Eula Griffith was born in Bayou Chicot,
Louisiana, on March 24, 1954, and she grew up with the companionship
of eight brothers and five sisters; she devoted herself to her faith
at a young age, and she was baptized at Morning Pilgrim Baptist
Church; she graduated from Bayou Chicot High School in Ville
Platte, Louisiana, in 1971; and
       WHEREAS, Mrs. West was the proud mother of two children,
Elijah and LaTosha; over the years, she had the pleasure of
welcoming into her family four grandchildren, Mariah, Elijah,
Isiah, and Kingston, and two great-grandchildren, Taliah and
Az'Ryel; and
       WHEREAS, Eula West led a life of caring devotion to her loved
ones, and although she is deeply missed, her spirit will forever
live in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
of Eula Mae Griffith West and extend sincere condolences to the
members of her family: to her son, Elijah M. "Mark" West Sr.; to her
daughter, LaTosha M. West; to her granddaughter, Mariah J. West; to
her grandsons, Elijah West Jr. and his wife, Jada, Isiah West, and
Kingston Ernest Fields-West; to her great-granddaughter, Taliah
Ava West; to her great-grandson, Az'Ryel Ananias Isiah West; to her
sister, Eretta H. Blessett; to her brothers, Uylese Griffith and
Horace Griffith Jr.; to her sister-in-law, Gertie Mae Griffith; and
to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eula West.
