R E S O L U T I O N
       WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt by
the family, friends, and colleagues of Ronald Banerji of El Paso,
who passed away on September 10, 2023, at the age of 49; and
       WHEREAS, Born in Khewra, Pakistan, on March 8, 1974, Ron
Banerji moved with his family to the United States in 1977; raised
in New Orleans and in Libertyville, Illinois, he received a
bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
and graduated cum laude from Notre Dame Law School; and
       WHEREAS, Mr. Banerji went on to embark on a successful career
as an attorney; he initially worked in intellectual property
litigation but later discovered a passion for criminal prosecution,
and he served in the appellate division of the El Paso District
Attorney's Office; and
       WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Banerji was dedicated to his
family; he shared a rewarding marriage with his wife, Amanda, and he
took great pride in his two children, Samantha and Alex; known for
his quick wit, he kept everyone around him laughing and had a gift
for engaging anyone in conversation; and
       WHEREAS, In his leisure time, Mr. Banerji enjoyed being
active and took pleasure in anything that got him outdoors,
including scuba diving, sailing, and grilling; he also liked
reading science fiction and listening to alternative rock; and
       WHEREAS, Although Ron Banerji will be deeply missed, memories
of his generosity, his kindness, and his devotion to his loved ones
remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now,
therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
of Ronald Banerji and extend heartfelt condolences to the members
of his family: to his wife, Amanda Banerji; to his children,
Samantha and Alex; to his mother, Juliet Ghandhi; to his
stepmother, Mary Forester; to his siblings, Leena Banerji and her
husband, Derek, Jennifer Ghandhi and her husband, Danny, Michelle
Degen and her husband, Mike, and Brian Banerji; and to his other
relatives and many friends; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ron
Banerji.
