R E S O L U T I O N
|
 
|
             WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close |
 
|
with the passing of Jean Ellen Schwiening Jacoby of Junction on |
 
|
September 7, 2023, at the age of 79; and |
 
|
             WHEREAS, Born in Sherman on October 4, 1943, the former Jean |
 
|
Schwiening was the daughter of Alfred Schwiening Jr. and Sara |
 
|
Schwiening; she graduated from high school at the age of 16 and went |
 
|
to finishing school before attending Austin College, where she |
 
|
graduated with a degree in English and history; she later obtained |
 
|
her master's degree in counseling at Angelo State University; and |
 
|
             WHEREAS, Mrs. Jacoby enjoyed a rewarding career in education |
 
|
that spanned three decades, teaching in Connecticut, South |
 
|
Carolina, Texas, and Poland; beloved by her students, she retired |
 
|
as a counselor at Junction High School; and |
 
|
             WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Jacoby benefited from the |
 
|
love and support of her husband, Ray Jacoby, until his passing; she |
 
|
took great pride in her three children, Alfred, Bryan, and Ashley, |
 
|
and her two stepchildren, Jana and Randa, and with the passing |
 
|
years, her treasured family grew to include numerous grandchildren |
 
|
and great-grandchildren; she took pleasure in traveling with her |
 
|
husband and friends and in cooking and volunteering in the |
 
|
community; and |
 
|
             WHEREAS, Although Jean Jacoby is greatly missed, memories of |
 
|
her vibrant personality, her wit, and her devotion to her loved ones |
 
|
remain to inspire those she leaves behind, and she will forever hold |
 
|
a special place in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough |
 
|
to know her; now, therefore, be it |
 
|
             RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
 
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
 
|
Jean Ellen Schwiening Jacoby and extend heartfelt condolences to |
 
|
the members of her family: to her children, Alfred Campbell and his |
 
|
wife, Sara, Bryan Campbell and his wife, Brandy, and Ashley Craig |
 
|
and her husband, Dwayne; to her stepchildren, Jana Pridemore and |
 
|
her husband, Shane, and Randa Jacoby; to her grandchildren, |
 
|
Michele, Charlie, Nick, Nelson, Al, Anna-Kate, and Abigail; to her |
 
|
step-grandchildren, Brittany, Lindsey, Bannon, and Jacy; to her |
 
|
great-grandchildren; to her sister, Clara St. Clair; and to her |
 
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
 
|
             RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
 
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
 
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jean |
 
|
Jacoby. |
