SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 14
       WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
tribute to Carolyn Guidry Beckham on the grand occasion of her
85th birthday; and
       WHEREAS, Carolyn Guidry was born on October 14, 1938, in
Houston; a respected and admired member of her community, this
distinguished lady is well known for her charm and generous
spirit, and she is a source of inspiration to her family and many
friends; and
       WHEREAS, Carolyn led a fulfilling career as a radiology
technologist for more than 50 years and retired in 2019; she
began her career by working in the radiology department at Saint
Elizabeth's Hospital in Houston after graduating from Phyllis
Wheatley High School, and she later completed a radiology
technology program and worked at Los Angeles County Hospital for
several years before returning to Houston with her family; and
       WHEREAS, A loving mother to her children, Karen, Huey Jr.,
and Eric, and an adoring grandmother to her four grandchildren
and her four great-grandchildren, Carolyn shared 42 years of
marriage with her beloved husband, the late Huey Beckham Sr., and
she is a devoted friend to many; and
       WHEREAS, Cherished by her loved ones and noted for her wise
counsel, her dedication to her family, and her enthusiasm for
living each day to the fullest, Carolyn has enjoyed a range of
hobbies and interests over the years, including bowling,
gardening, and traveling, and she delights in spending quality
time with her grandchildren, reminiscing about her life's
adventures, and embracing new experiences; and
       WHEREAS, In commemoration of her 85th birthday, friends
and family are gathering to pay tribute to Carolyn and this
important milestone in her life, and it is indeed a most fitting
occasion for them to join in celebration and to express to her
their great affection and appreciation; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby recognize Carolyn Guidry
Beckham as a treasured citizen of the Lone Star State and extend
congratulations to her on her 85th birthday; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as a memento of this special day.
