A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to designating the second Saturday in October as Hospice |
|
|
and Palliative Care Day. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 662.0815 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 662.0815. HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE DAY. (a) The |
|
|
second Saturday in October is Hospice and Palliative Care Day to |
|
|
bring awareness to the role of hospice and palliative care in |
|
|
optimizing the quality of life for seriously ill patients and their |
|
|
families. |
|
|
(b) Hospice and Palliative Care Day may be regularly |
|
|
observed by appropriate ceremonies and activities. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the |
|
|
last day of the legislative session. |
