A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of parental child safety placements. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 264, Family Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 264.908 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 264.908. USE OF PARENTAL CHILD SAFETY PLACEMENTS. (a) |
|
|
Notwithstanding other law, the department shall use a parental |
|
|
child safety placement in each case in which the department |
|
|
determines it is appropriate. |
|
|
(b) If the department determines that a parental child |
|
|
safety placement is not appropriate, the department shall record in |
|
|
writing in the child's case file the reasons the department |
|
|
determined a parental child safety placement was not appropriate. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the |
|
|
last day of the legislative session. |
