House Joint Resolution 7018 honors Jason Reuter on the occasion of his retirement after a remarkable sixteen-year career as the head coach of the Bradley County High School Bearette basketball program. Reuter, a former standout player who began his coaching journey in the 1990s, significantly transformed the Bearette program, leading them to an impressive overall record of 489-46, including 161 consecutive district victories and numerous championships. His coaching excellence is highlighted by a 91.4 percent win rate and the successful development of players, with thirty-four athletes advancing to collegiate basketball, including a WNBA No. 1 draft pick and an Olympic medalist.

The resolution acknowledges Reuter's numerous accolades, including being a four-time TSSAA Coach of the Year and the 2025 MaxPreps National Coach of the Year. Beyond his coaching achievements, he is recognized for his commitment to student development, sportsmanship, and school pride. Although retiring from coaching, Reuter plans to continue his role as a teacher at BCHS. The resolution expresses gratitude for his contributions to Tennessee high school basketball and wishes him success and happiness in his future endeavors.
