House Joint Resolution 1649 honors Coach Lamar Rogers upon his retirement after an illustrious fifty-year career at Clarkrange High School, where he has become a legendary figure in high school basketball. With an impressive record of 1,364 wins and 350 losses, Coach Rogers is recognized as the winningest girls' basketball coach in TSSAA history. His tenure has been marked by remarkable achievements, including leading the Lady Buffaloes to eight state championships, three state runner-up finishes, and an astounding forty-nine consecutive winning seasons.

In addition to his coaching success, Coach Rogers has received numerous accolades, including induction into multiple halls of fame and prestigious awards such as the John Wooden Legacy Award. He has also played a significant role in the development of young athletes, coaching fifty-two scholarship players and numerous All-State athletes.
