House Joint Resolution 1226 honors Coach Jimmy May upon his retirement as head coach of the Oneida High School football program. With a remarkable 35-year career at Oneida, Coach May has served in various roles, including chemistry teacher, athletic director, and principal, earning the respect of students and colleagues alike. He began his coaching journey as an assistant under his father, leading the team to a state championship in 1992, and later became the head coach in 1999, achieving a commendable record of 73-43. After stepping down in 2004 to focus on his principal duties, he returned to coaching in 2009 and resumed the head coach position in 2021.
