Senate Joint Resolution 980, sponsored by Southerland, recognizes and commends the South Greene High School yearbook staff for their outstanding achievements at the Tennessee High School Press Association (THSPA) awards ceremony held on March 2, 2026. The yearbook, titled "Ignite," received the prestigious All-Tennessee Yearbook designation, the highest rating awarded by THSPA, and secured third place for Best Yearbook Overall. This recognition highlights the staff's excellence in various aspects of yearbook production, including writing, photography, design, and visual storytelling.

Additionally, individual members of the yearbook staff received accolades for their exceptional contributions. Brynna Wilhoit earned first place for Best Organization/Clubs Copy and second place for Best Academic Photo, while Eli Hardin also placed second for Best Academic Photo. Chloe Saulsbury and Remi Holter received third place honors in their respective categories for Best Sports Design and Best Sports Photo. The resolution expresses pride in the students' dedication and hard work, acknowledging their role as ambassadors for Tennessee and wishing them continued success in the future.
