Senate Joint Resolution 796, sponsored by Southerland, honors Nash Rader, a talented quarterback from South Greene High School, for his remarkable achievements in high school football. Recently named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's 2A All-State football team, Rader showcased his skills by accumulating 1,279 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns, along with completing 45 of 89 passes for 868 yards and 10 touchdowns during his senior year. His efforts contributed to the South Greene Rebels achieving an 8-4 record and reaching the second round of the State playoffs for the first time since 2022. Additionally, Rader was recognized as the Region 1-2A Player of the Year.
The resolution emphasizes Rader's exemplary character both on and off the field, highlighting his status as a role model for student-athletes. His accomplishments not only bring pride to his family, particularly his father, a former All-State player, but also to his community and school. The General Assembly expresses its admiration for Rader's dedication to excellence and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors. An appropriate copy of the resolution will be prepared for presentation.
