Throughout his tenure, Butler has played a crucial role in various conservation initiatives, including the reintroduction of elk into Tennessee and the passage of the Constitutional Right to Hunt and Fish, ensuring the protection of sporting heritage for future generations. His commitment to environmental policy and community service has earned him national recognition and numerous appointments, including a position on the Board of Trustees for the Udall Foundation.
