House Joint Resolution 696, sponsored by Vital, honors the Chattanooga Allergy Clinic (CAC) on its fiftieth anniversary, recognizing its significant contributions to the health and well-being of the Greater Chattanooga community. Established in 1975 by Dr. Hyman Kaplan, CAC was the first full-service allergy and immunology clinic in the area, providing essential care for allergies, asthma, immunodeficiency, and food allergies. Prior to its founding, residents had to travel to Nashville or Atlanta for specialized care. Over the years, CAC has expanded from five employees to over 130, including six double-board-certified physicians and eleven nurse practitioners, and has grown to eight locations, all while maintaining its commitment to compassionate care and improving patients' quality of life.
The resolution expresses gratitude for CAC's dedication to enhancing the lives of Tennessee citizens through high-quality allergy and immunology healthcare, encapsulated in its motto, "Helping You Live Life to the Fullest." The House of Representatives and the Senate of the One Hundred Fourteenth General Assembly of the State of Tennessee collectively recognize the clinic's remarkable achievements and its role in reducing emergency room visits and hospital admissions for allergy-related issues. An appropriate copy of the resolution will be prepared for presentation to commemorate this milestone.
