He also played a crucial role in establishing KidsCare, a clinic for TennCare patients, and later served as the executive director of the Cumberland Pediatric Foundation.

In addition to his medical career, Dr. Vann has continued to serve the community post-retirement, working with individuals recovering from addiction and authoring a book on emotional resilience.
