House Joint Resolution 641, sponsored by Maberry, honors Cadet Kenneth Darden for receiving the prestigious CSM Darol Walker Award from Austin Peay State University (APSU). This award recognizes a senior Army ROTC cadet who has excelled academically, militarily, and in extracurricular activities. Cadet Darden, a member of the Green to Gold Active Duty Option program at APSU, has a distinguished military background, having served eleven years in the U.S. Army, including three deployments to Iraq. He has held various leadership roles and has been recognized with multiple military honors for his service.

In addition to his military achievements, Cadet Darden has maintained a 3.7 GPA while pursuing a bachelor's degree in leadership science at APSU. He has also been actively involved in campus life, serving as the Fall 2024 Homecoming King, a member of the Student Government Association, and the captain of the Ranger Challenge Team, which recently placed third in a competitive event. The resolution expresses the General Assembly's congratulations to Cadet Darden for his commitment to excellence and service to the state of Tennessee.
