House Joint Resolution 591, sponsored by Representative Harris, honors the University of Memphis Tigers football team for their remarkable achievements during the 2024 season. Under the leadership of Coach Ryan Silverfield, the Tigers achieved their first consecutive double-digit win seasons in program history, finishing with eleven wins and a record of 21-5 over the past two seasons. The team made a significant mark by being ranked in the Coaches Poll and AP Poll for the first time since 2019, and they hold the longest active streak in the nation for scoring twenty or more points in forty consecutive games. Notably, quarterback Seth Henigan set multiple records, including becoming the program's all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns.

The resolution also highlights the individual accomplishments of several players, including Henigan, who was named Offensive MVP of the Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl, and running back Mario Anderson, Jr., who ranked eighth nationally in total scrimmage yards. Linebacker Chandler Martin also received recognition for his defensive performance. The resolution expresses the General Assembly's appreciation for the Tigers' hard work and dedication, congratulating the coaches and players on their successful season and wishing them continued success in the future.
