House Joint Resolution 588, sponsored by Clemmons, honors Alice Asako Walle for her exceptional contributions to music education. Throughout her career, Walle has been dedicated to creating music programs that promote cultural awareness and self-identity among her students. As the inaugural music teacher at Waverly Belmont Elementary School, she inspired a love for music and played a significant role in the production of "We Are Nashville." Currently, she serves as the Elementary Music Instructional Coach for Metro Nashville Public Schools, advocating for equitable access to quality music education for all students. Additionally, Walle has been recognized multiple times as a Country Music Association Foundation Music Teacher of Excellence and actively collaborates with local musicians and organizations to enhance music education.

As Walle prepares to relocate to Michigan at the end of the school year, the resolution expresses gratitude for her exemplary service to the Nashville community and the positive impact she has had on her students' lives. The General Assembly commends her commitment to equity in music education and wishes her success in her future endeavors. The resolution concludes with a request for an appropriate copy to be prepared for presentation.
