House Joint Resolution 550, sponsored by Darby, honors Melinda Poteet Goode on the occasion of her retirement after nearly 41 years of dedicated service with the Northwest Tennessee Development District and Human Resource Agency. Mrs. Goode has held various roles throughout her career, most recently serving as the executive director of both agencies since November 2020. Her work has significantly impacted the lives of over 250,000 citizens in Northwest Tennessee, as she has tirelessly advocated for rural communities and coordinated essential programs and resources.
In addition to her professional achievements, Mrs. Goode is a respected leader in her field, having participated in numerous leadership programs and serving on various boards, including the Tennessee Development District Association and the Tennessee Association of Human Resource Agencies. She has also contributed to her community through her involvement with the Weakley County Board of Education and mission trips to Honduras. The resolution expresses heartfelt gratitude for her exemplary service and wishes her a happy and fulfilling retirement, recognizing her professionalism, integrity, and the respect she has earned from colleagues and the community.
