In addition to his ministerial work, Brother Smith has had a significant impact as an educator, teaching history and Spanish for 45 years at various schools, including Woodbury High School and Cumberland College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a master's degree from Middle Tennessee State University, as well as a doctorate from Lake Charles Bible College. His dedication to both education and ministry, along with his empathy for students, has earned him respect and admiration.
