Senate Joint Resolution 225, sponsored by McNally, recognizes and honors William "Bill" Clabough, Sr. for his significant contributions to the Foothills Land Conservancy (FLC). Over the past twenty years, Clabough has played a pivotal role in the organization, which has successfully preserved over 200,000 acres across Tennessee and six surrounding states through 500 conservation projects. His leadership as executive director since 2006 has been marked by a commitment to land protection partnerships, stewardship, and community outreach, culminating in the successful completion of the 25 in 25 Initiative, which aimed to preserve 25,000 acres by 2010.
In addition to his work with FLC, Clabough has a rich history of public service, having served in the Tennessee House of Representatives and Senate, where he earned respect for his contributions as vice chairman of the Commerce, Labor and Agriculture Committee and secretary of the Finance, Ways and Means Committee. His community involvement extends to various organizations, including serving as treasurer of the Senate Republican Caucus and participating in local civic groups. The resolution expresses gratitude for Clabough's dedication to land conservation and community service, wishing him continued success in his endeavors.
