House Joint Resolution 261, sponsored by Representative Mitchell, honors Jared Curtis, a standout quarterback for the Nashville Christian School (NCS) football team, who has achieved remarkable success in high school football. As a junior, Curtis is recognized as a five-star college prospect and is ranked as the number-one quarterback in the nation for the 2026 class. His impressive accolades include the 2024 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Award, the Gatorade Tennessee Player of the Year Award, and being named a MaxPreps Junior All-American. During the 2024 season, he led the NCS Eagles to a state championship with a record of 12-1, showcasing his exceptional skills by completing 70% of his passes for 2,830 yards and scoring a total of 58 touchdowns.
The resolution not only celebrates Curtis's athletic achievements but also highlights his character, as he remains humble and dedicated to his teammates and community. In addition to his football accomplishments, he has volunteered for charitable causes such as the Ronald McDonald House and the Cozy Sock drive for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
