House Joint Resolution 206, sponsored by Hulsey, recognizes Michael Ayers Wimberley for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout on October 31, 2024. The resolution highlights the importance of the Boy Scouts of America in fostering character development, citizenship, and physical fitness among youth. Michael, a member of Troop 387, has earned thirty-six merit badges and completed over 116 hours of volunteer service, including a significant Eagle project that involved constructing a historically accurate lean-to for Exchange Place in Kingsport. His leadership and service have been acknowledged with awards such as the Scout of the Year Award and the Paul Davis Leadership Award.
In addition to his accomplishments in Scouting, Michael is a senior at Dobyns Bennett High School and has participated in various High Adventure trips and summer camps, demonstrating his commitment to the Scouting program.
