House Joint Resolution 184, sponsored by McKenzie, honors the Knoxville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. on the occasion of its 112th Founders Day Celebration. The resolution recognizes the sorority's commitment to community betterment, academic excellence, and public service, which has been a hallmark since its founding on January 13, 1913, by twenty-two African-American women at Howard University. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is noted for its focus on addressing the challenges faced by African Americans and all Americans through its Five-Point programmatic thrust, which includes Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness.

The Knoxville Alumnae Chapter actively serves the local community, providing scholarships and support in alignment with the sorority's mission. The Founders Day Celebration, scheduled for February 22, 2025, will bring together members and community residents under the theme "One Team, One Dream: Honoring the Past, Building the Future." The resolution concludes by commending the chapter for its dedication to educational excellence and public service, and it calls for an appropriate copy of the resolution to be prepared for presentation.
