House Joint Resolution 148, sponsored by Helton-Haynes, recognizes Bea's Restaurant in Chattanooga for its seventy-fifth anniversary. Established in 1950 by Bill and Beatrice Steele, the restaurant has become a beloved dining destination known for its delicious Southern cuisine and exceptional service. Originally a small establishment with a single dining room, Bea's has grown into a fourth-generation family business, currently managed by Doug Bradshaw and his family. The restaurant has maintained its signature dishes, including fried chicken and sweet tea, many of which are based on Mrs. Steele's original recipes.
The resolution honors the hard work and dedication of the Steele and Bradshaw families, as well as the loyal staff who have contributed to the restaurant's success over the decades. Bea's Restaurant has served as a gathering place for the Chattanooga community, hosting countless memorable occasions such as first dates and family dinners. The General Assembly commends the restaurant for its exemplary customer service and culinary contributions, wishing them continued success in the future.
