Senate Bill 707, also known as House Bill 821, amends various sections of the Tennessee Code Annotated regarding the sale and distribution of age-restricted products, specifically tobacco, smoking hemp, vapor products, and smokeless nicotine products. The bill mandates that sellers and distributors must demand proof of age from prospective purchasers who appear to be under fifty years old. Additionally, for mail distributions, the addressee must provide an affirmative statement confirming they are at least twenty-one years old and be informed of the prohibition against distributing these products to anyone under that age.

The bill also modifies the requirements for vending machine supervision, stating that proof of age must be presented by anyone who appears to be under fifty years old. Furthermore, it changes the age reference in one section from "twenty-nine (29) years of age" to "forty-nine (49) years of age." The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
