Senate Bill 619 amends Tennessee Code Annotated to introduce a new provision regarding the removal of public information related to adverse actions taken against healthcare providers' licenses or registrations. Specifically, it allows providers who have completed a peer assistance or treatment program, following an adverse action that resulted in a consent order, to petition the relevant board for the removal of public information about that action after a period of ten years from the start of their probation. The bill mandates that the relevant board review these requests and, if approved, remove the information from public dissemination.
Additionally, the bill empowers the division of health-related boards to create rules to implement this act, which must be in accordance with the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act. The provisions for rule promulgation take effect immediately upon becoming law, while the other provisions will take effect on July 1, 2025.
