Present law provides that certain records or information of any state, county, municipal, or other public employee or former employee, or applicant to such position, of any law enforcement officer commissioned by the governing boards of public institutions of higher education, or of any federal law enforcement agent or officer conducting an operation in this state, in the possession of a governmental entity or any person in its capacity as an employer must be treated as confidential and must not be open for inspection by members of the public. One such type of record or information includes residential information, including the street address, city, state and zip code, for any state employee; and the residential street address for any county, municipal or other public employee. This bill expands this provision to protect residential information, besides just the street address, for any county, municipal, or other public employee.
